Board Members

Steve Lefebvre
President
Steve provides leadership and strategic direction for MAACA, ensuring the Association continues to grow and deliver inclusive cricket opportunities across Melbourne. As President, he works closely with the Board, clubs and community partners to strengthen governance, sustainability and long-term planning.
He is passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment where players of all abilities can participate, develop confidence and enjoy the game. Steve is committed to strong collaboration, transparency and maintaining MAACA’s values at the centre of decision-making.

Chris Lane
Secretary
Chris supports the governance and administration of MAACA, including coordinating meetings, maintaining records and supporting communication across the organisation. He works closely with the Board to ensure compliance and effective operations.

Brendan Lane
Play HQ Administrator
Brendan oversees MAACA’s PlayHQ administration, ensuring competitions, registrations and player records are managed accurately and efficiently. He supports clubs and volunteers with system queries and helps maintain smooth operational processes throughout the season.
Through his role, Brendan contributes to the effective delivery of competitions by ensuring compliance, clear communication and timely updates. He plays an important part in supporting players, families and clubs behind the scenes to keep the Association running seamlessly.

Matthew Jackson
Committee Member
Matthew serves as a General Committee Member, supporting the governance and ongoing development of MAACA. He contributes to Board discussions and decision-making to help ensure the Association delivers inclusive and well-managed cricket opportunities.
He represents MAACA at clubs’ Come and Try Days, promoting inclusive cricket pathways and engaging with prospective players and families. Matthew is committed to fostering a welcoming environment that encourages participation and long-term involvement in the game.

Jamie Smythe
Rules Sub-Committee Chairman
Jamie chairs the MAACA Rules Sub-Committee, overseeing the review, development and implementation of playing rules to ensure competitions remain inclusive, fair and aligned with the Association’s objectives. He works closely with clubs and the Board to consider feedback and support continuous improvement of competition regulations.
Through his leadership, Jamie helps maintain clarity, consistency and integrity across all grades of play. He is committed to ensuring MAACA’s rules promote participation, player safety and an enjoyable experience for all involved.

David Sproules
Committee Member
David serves as a General Committee Member, supporting the governance and strategic development of MAACA. He contributes to Board discussions and decision-making to help ensure the Association remains sustainable and forward-looking.
With a particular focus on identifying and pursuing grant opportunities, David works to secure funding that supports programs, equipment and inclusive participation initiatives. His efforts help strengthen MAACA’s capacity to grow and continue delivering meaningful cricket opportunities for players of all abilities.
